Summary, etc. In the constantly changing the world of the Filipino film industry, film festivals are the effective platform to let the world see the screen images in the Philippine Cinema. There are a number of locally produced films that have received international recognition. The local film industry includes highly talented and experienced people who have produced outstanding films that have been given recognition and attracted attention here and abroad. Films are a powerful force in Philippine Society. It is more than just a source of entertainment but it also reflects the nation's personality. A film is the soul of a nation and that it must be —in the best interest of the Philippine nation, history, heritage, and culture that a film archive be established in order to preserve and restore our country's most treasured films and cinematic masterpieces. This importance of educating Filipinos through film and encouraging filmmakers to create more films through the establishment of a film archive is furthermore emphasized by advocates of the film preservation movement. Films can be viewed by anyone in the current or, more importantly the next generation. Films are historical documents and we are fortunate to be in the digital age for now it is easier to restore and preserve films.
