520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Rice is greatly established in the Filipino cuisine and culture. It plays a big role in our every meal as it is the most important food crop, a staple food in most parts of the country. It has been recorded that half the country's population subsists wholly or partially on rice. Unfortunately, the supply of rice in the country is still insufficient to accommodate its demand though many farmers around the Philippines produce rice farms. The rapid increase in population growth that results to higher demand rate; the urbanization and land conversion that transforms farmlands into various developments; the long farm to market roads that contribute to less efficiency rate of rice production; and the old irrigation systems are the main reasons for the low rice production in the country.
