This book is a product of years of experience in handling the program on student teaching. It is an attempt to equip the beginning teacher with the necessary skills and knowledge in guiding learners both in the elementary and secondary levels. Likewise, it is a guide on how to work with the cooperating schools as well as with the community, thus reinforcing the experiences gained in the laboratory school during the in-campus training. The book particularly focused on how to face the challenges in off-campus training, real life classroom situations which he will eventually meet as a full-fledged mentor. With the asssitance of sympathetic cooperating teachers, he is stimulated, directed and guided for growth and development. Self-development is experienced by the student teacer as he works with the cooperating teacher, with the young learners, the school personnel and the people in the community.
