Management Science: A Quantitative Approach to Decision Making simplifies quantitative concepts and principles by adopting a procedural approach, as illustrated by various cases throughout the book. This textbook is written with the scope and coverage of the CPA licensure examination carefully considered. Hence, it consist of nine chapters structured as follows. Chapter 1 introduces the need and the importance of having a better understanding of management science. Chapter 2 and 3 discuss linear programming tools using the graphical and simplex methods. Chapter 4 presents the transportation and assignment models that are used in solving special linear programming problems. Chapter 5 describes the quantitative models used when making decisions with several alternatives under different decision environments. Chapter 6 and 7 explain the procedures and methods for solving a management problem using a network. Finally, Chapter 8 and 9 discuss the quantitative techniques used in handling inventories and sales volume levels.
