The purpose of this study is to determine how energy can affect the sustainability of our economy. The global economy demands energy as its blood and life. This statement itself displays a very large interest on developing to sustain the demand of our economy. Despite the proven statement, the Philippines rely on an unstable source of energy, fossil fuel in exact. Unlike other countries, they have been continuously researching for alternative sources of energy that is first and foremost, clean and second, is long term. This is where Nuclear Energy enters the scene. Nuclear Energy still needs further research and development to be used as an alternative source of energy. Using local and international data, the researcher was able to collate information that are relevant to the study. The study focuses on the relationship between the economy and the energy industry and how can an Energy Research Centre affect the growth of both sectors. The energy industries supply the batteries needed to operate the machineries for production and provide labor to the many of the public. This sector provides the electricty that serve as the keystone to the pillars of our economy. The Energy Research Centre on the other hand should develop new strategies to support the energy industries since the demand of the economy constantly changes as time passes by. On the basis of the result of this research, it can be concluded that the presence of an Energy Research Centre is relevant to the growth of both the economy and energy sectors. With the help of architecture, we can design an Energy Research Centre that focuses on developing Nuclear Energy as a source of alternative energy that can supply the demand of our country's energy needs.
