Summary: The airline industry in the country is one of the factors that contribute to the rapid growth of the tourism industry. Air transportation is one means of carrying out international trade, aside from passenger transport. It is also the safest means of transport, despite the horrifying accidents that occurred. Since the deregulation of the airline industry years ago, the number of passenger volume swelled, because the aeronautical field, particularly commercial piloting, is a tough line of profession. The demand for topnotch pilots comes mainly from the Philippine Air Force. Airforce pilots, in comparison to civilian-trained pilots are better experienced and disciplined because of their military backgrounds. Aeronautical engineers, technicians, and other aviation-related fields, on the other hand, are trained in top private aeronautical colleges, with the majority coming from Metro Manila. The major drawback of commercial pilot and engineering training is lack of expansion through other far-flung regions.
