The Philippines remains attractive holiday destination despite the slow down in regional tourism business due to the economic crisis currently affecting the Asian region. The Philippine tourism authority, the infrastructure arm of department of tourism, has been at the forefront of tourism development, the maintenance and rehabilitation of tourism properties and the beautification of tourism destinations.
