This thesis will synthesize and explore existing studies and researches on the mental health field; the different types of mental illnesses and its current treatment processes, modern psychiatric facility design, the factors that needs to be considered when designing it, the effects of several elements to the patients and staff, as well as the importance of nature to their recovery and well-being to design a new behavioral health facility located in Tagaytay City, Cavite, Philippines.
