Summary: Tala was a former Leper Colony. The infected patients were delineated in the community, which results to their zero contribution to the society. Since independence was taught to the Hansenites, they started to uplift their morale by helping other less fortunate in their financial and food supply. With the Pondo ng Pinoy, ten to hundred thousand of money are saved, and every year it is donated to charities.
