Summary: The Development of Mangyan Community ( Tau-buid Tribe of sitio Safa, barangay Sabang ) proposed project is often define as the aim of transforming and uplifting the socio-economic life of the people . Such view development, still common among many planners, is at best paternalistic in that it imposes on the people unilaterally, from above, which their asking, a way of life which is alien to them. As such, it does upset their life, dislocate them and further alienate them from the mainsteam of society. The Tau-buid Tribe in Oriental Mindoro provide to develop their need in the following with the land and natural resources, economic/marketing, education and health, and general cultural.
