Summary: From the earliest settlements, the people of the Philippines have depended to a substantial degree upon water transport as a means for the movement of passengers and freight. Due to lack of extensive roads and difficulties of overload transport often diverted intra-island transportation to water routes. Dependence of water transport led to the development of hundreds of ports here in the Philippines. Methods of accessibility established in which it is the major factor for achieving economic development of the Philippines. Calapan, the provincial capital of Oriental Mindoro, is located in the northern coast of Mindoro Island. It is bounded on the north and northeast by Calapan Bay. It lies at the head of Calapan by 28 nautical miles from the nearest point of Batangas. Port as a terminal structure, where the ships and vessels stop for its loading and unloading passengers and cargoes. Having the facilities that could accommodate and serve the people conveniently according to their will, port location in Calapan are set upon in different criteria and also depends it's environmental impact with the other structures. Having a good ports, it must have a sufficient depth to accommodate ships at the lowest stages of tides. It must be closed toward the direction from which the highest wind blows, and at the bottom, it must have a good holding ground for ships anchors. Inadequate facilities to handle seasonal traffic flow situation, produce health hazards and unclean surrounding, communication gap for group of people. Because of these provisionary things about the area elements of achievement, it is considered as for reaching the objectives of the proposed project.
