Summary: Cruise tourism is one of the most developing industry in the world. The concept of cruise is basically that of a floating resort which travels from one destination to another. The rate of tourists participating in cruising has shown a drastic change for the last 10 years. The Philippines, with its rapid economic development, huge population and long coastline is regarded as a market with immense potential for more number of tourists and new destinations. The port of Legazpi in the Bicol province is one of the most favored parts in the country for a proposed International cruise ship terminal for it is renowned as a haven for ships cruising the pacific ocean. It is expected that the cruise tourism industry in the country would witness rapid growth once required infrastructure is in place.
