Museum is mandated to collect, preserve study, interpret and promote mainly the countries visual arts and other important movable and immovable cultural property. It also disseminates information for the development of interest in the universe galaxy and heavenly bodies. It offers experiences that are informative as well as educational. Museum offer reflection of high levels of developments. Modern museum by definition must meet and embrace a number of specialized functions. It must also be systematic in its collection care. There are several types of museum based on authorizing agencies. We have the following government museum that are authorized and supported by local, regional, or national governmental agencies. Private museum funded and operated by individuals or private organization. University museums that are attached to the colleges, university and maintained for educational study collection. Building an institution of arts in our community will encourage people to appreciate and treasure things or objects done with a purpose of study, education and enjoyment of such material evidence of man and his environment. The museum is there fore of help in the developing and sustaining the economic strength of ones area of place.
