N2  - For over three centuries, college graduates in the United States have had a preferred place in the job market- more interesting and prestigious jobs, higher incomes, less unemployment than the general population. For the first time, this preferred place -or at least the degree of preferment- is perhaps now being threatened. This creates a potentiality of traumatic experiences for college students and for higher education
