This document is an attempt to shed some light on the subject as viewed by dedicated people committed to finding solutions within the boundaries of available and emerging technology. It will take much education to get all of us to understand the proper applications of biodegradable plastics or to differentiate between a litter problem and a solid waste problem. We who work full time within this discipline do not always agree on the appropriate solutions.
