Hill Jr [co-author]Material type: TextTextPublication details: Manila: UNI-ED, Incorporated, c1982Description: xii, 353 pages: illustrations; 25 cmISBN: 139308598Subject(s): TRIGONOMETRY | DATA PROCESSING | CALCULATORSLOC classification: QA 531 .H478 1982
Contents:
Chapter Zero. Calculators -- -- Chapter One. Right triangle trigonometry -- Chapter Two. General trigonometry -- Chapter Three. Analytic and geometric trigonometry -- Chapter Four. Complex numbers -- Chapter Five. Exponential and logarithmic functions
Summary: This textbook fulfills that promise. Unlike early attempts in this direction (which consisted mostly of tacking on a few exercises with messy numbers), it fully integrates the calculator into the subject matter and uses it as a pedagogical device as well as a computational aid. The traditional logarithm and trigonometric tables are discarded (though an optional section on using tables and interpolation is included); the liberated time is used for a deeper investigation into other topics.
