The trial had anti-Semitic overtones. The article "J Is for Jew" (p. 210-213) reflects on the struggle by Marcus Shloimovitz to exclude negative connotations of the word "Jew" from English dictionaries. "Unholy Passions at Oberammergau" (p. 214-217) reflects on the anti-Semitic deicide charge in the Oberammergau passion play.
